Knittle

My gg-grandmother, Izora Viola was either born to Knittle and then adopted by Knelly or the other way around. I'm told that she came over to the US with her adoptive parents from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France (I think that it was occupied by Germany at the time).

I found a book written by a Wm.(?) Knittle on the Palatine migration from that region thru England and on to America. I'm just starting reading it to see if I can find any insights into this. I also hope to visit my great aunt from that side of the family to see what information she has for me.
