Anna Kettle
I have been working as a self employed pargeter and parget conservator for 25 years and most of my work has been in Suffolk, England. During that time I have tried to understand the history and motivation for the various old pargets that I have seen. Despite its significance in the realm of vernacular English crafts, pargeting has received little scholarly attention and the pargeters themselves have shown more interest in actually doing the work than in writing about it.
This document therefore represents the first comprehensive attempt to document the techniques, practitioners, locations, and historical changes associated with pargeting.
